Hotel boom continues in China (Part 1)

Various international hotel groups have opened more properties in China in time for the New Year, including DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Guangzhou, Sheraton Langfang Chaobai River Hotel in Hefei, Sheraton Bailuhu Resort in Huizhou, and Aloft Yancheng Hotel in Jiangsu.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Guangzhou

Opened on December 28, this property offers 305 rooms, including 25 suites. It is located in the prime Yuexiu business district and about 40 minutes' drive from the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. From here, guests can easily access government offices and notable attractions. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall metro station is about 10 minutes' walk away.

Event space on offer includes seven meeting rooms, the 430-metre Yuexiu ballroom for up to 400 guests, and a poolside area for 80. The property also features three unique restaurants – OPEN, serving up full-service buffets; NoDu, featuring a variety of Asian noodle dishes from Guangdong to Tokyo to Singapore; and Dong Yuan Ge, with one of the specialities being “Beggar’s Chicken”.

Sheraton Langfang Chaobai River Hotel

 

Having opened its doors on December 28, the hotel offers 302 guestrooms and suites. The hotel provides a total of 3,000sqm of meeting and event spaces comprising 11 rooms ranging from 50 to 1,400sqm. There is also a pillar-less ballroom that can be divided into three smaller spaces. There are also two restaurants including Feast, serving buffet in western and eastern cuisine, and Yue, offering Huaiyang and Sichuan food.

The hotel is located on Jiangtan Road, within Chaobai New City’s commercial centre. Industrial parks, residential offices, exhibition centres, and leisure facilities are all just minutes away. Beijing Capital International Airport can be reached by car in approximately one hour.

Situated about halfway between Beijing and Tianjin, Langfang is a city in Hebei Province with around four million people. The main industry here is tech development. The city also has a Langfang Export Processing Zone established by the state council in 2005 which commenced operations three years later.

Sheraton Bailuhu Resort

 

The second Sheraton property opened in Huizhou on December 29, with 449 rooms including 44 suites from 80 to 1,000sqm. It also provides 22,000sqm for meetings and events, including a 1,050sqm pillar-less ballroom, and 12 multi-functional meeting rooms which can hold up to 600 guests. There are also special facilities including a 1,900sqm outdoor swimming pool, artificial beach and 18-hole golf course. This property has both Yue and Feast restaurants, as well as Bene restaurant serving Italian cuisine.

As it is a resort, it is located quite far from the city. Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport are both 105 minutes away, while Hong Kong International Airport can be reached in two hours.

Huizhou, with around 4.7 million people, is located in China’s southern Guangdong province, along the South China Sea on the eastern side of the Pearl River Delta. The blossoming of the real estate market there has attracted capital investment from Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is also regarded as a world-class site for the petrochemical industry, and a hub for developing information technology, expanding exports and trade. The TCL Corporation is a multinational electronics company headquartered in the city.

Aloft Yancheng Hotel

Having opened on December 28, the hotel offers 299 rooms with free wifi. Six meeting spaces are provided, with the largest measuring 3,767sqm.

In terms of food and beverage outlets, there's a bar called "W XYZSM", NOOK western restaurant, Re:Fuel by Aloft serving eclectic cuisine, and Flavor Chinese Restaurant.

The hotel is situated in the city centre on Yingbin Road South. With over 7 million people, Yancheng is the largest jurisdiction area in Jiangsu. Its financial income used to rely heavily on agriculture, but nowadays industries have diversified to include textiles, electronics, machinery, chemicals and building materials.
