Members of the Marriott Rewards and Iberia Plus loyalty schemes can now earn Avios when staying across the Marriott portfolio, and may also exchange Marriott Rewards points for Avios, thanks to a new partnership.
Members must first designate Avios as their earning preference, before gaining two Avios per US$1 spent at the following Marriott brands: Marriott Hotels and Resorts, JW Marriott, Renaissance Hotels, Marriott Vacation Club, Autograph Collection Hotels, Edition (room rate only), The Ritz-Carlton (room rate only) and Gaylord Hotels (room rate only).
Members will also earn one Avios per US$1 spent on room rate only at other Marriott brands, including: AC Hotels by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, Springhill Suites by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, Towne Place Suites by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments.
In addition, Marriott Rewards members can convert their points into Avios. Points can be exchanged at a rate of:
- 2,000 Avios for 10,000 Marriott Rewards points
- 5,000 Avios for 20,000 points
- 10,000 Avios for 30,000 points
- 25,000 Avios for 70,000 points
- 50,000 Avios for 125,000 points
Marriott Rewards already partners with Iberia’s sister airline British Airways Executive Club loyalty programme, which also uses the Avios currency.
Marriott currently has 77 hotels in Spain, including AC Hotels by Marriott, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Renaissance, Autograph Collection, and Marriott Vacation Club properties.
