Marriott International and AC Hotels have added two new properties to their joint venture AC Hotels by Marriott brand.
The 143-room AC Hotel Nice (pictured below) opened at the start of April following renovation work, and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and Promenade des Anglais. Features include a terrace with heated swimming pool, a Zen garden, 22 suites and three events spaces.
The property is the second to join the AC Hotels by Marriott brand in France, joining the AC Hotel Ambassadeur Antibes-Juan Les Pins.
Meanwhile the new AC Hotel Sant Cugat is located in Sant Cugat del Valles, a suburb of Barcelona situated around 20km north of the city, and features 152 rooms, meetings and events space, and the AC Lounge offering free wifi.
AC Hotels by Marriott launched in 2011, and currently counts over 80 properties across Spain, Portugal, France and Italy.
The new openings form part of Marriott’s five-year plan to double its European presence by 2015 (see online news March 16, 2010).
This week the group also announced the launch of its Autograph Collection brand in the UK, adding Threadneedles in London and The Glasshouse in Edinburgh to its portfolio (see online news April 8).
