Germany-based Pentahotels has announced expansion plans for the UK and Belgium.

The group is in the process of rebranding five Ramada Encore hotels in Birmingham, Derby, Inverness, Ipswich and Warrington, adding to the existing Pentahotel Reading. The converted properties will be integrated into the Pentahotels brand by the end of 2013.

In addition five existing hotels across Belgium will also be converted this year. The group will take over the management of the Mercure Brussels Centre Louise, the Alliance Hotel Brussels Airport, the Mercure Liège, the Alliance Hotel Brussels Expo and the Mercure Leuven Centre.

Finally two further properties are set to open in Hong Kong and Prague this summer.

Based in Germany but run by Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality, Pentahotels currently operates 11 properties across Germany, as well as hotels in Beijing, Shanghai, Vienna and Reading. The group aims to have 80 properties in operation by 2020.
