Pullman to refurbish five Paris hotels

15 Mar 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Accor’s Pullman brand has unveiled the refurbished Pullman Paris La Defense, with four more Pullman properties in the French capital undergoing revamps between now and April next year.

The project is being referred to as ‘Pullman Paris Live’, with over 2,500 rooms being refurbished and 26,000 sqm of public areas revamped.

At the Pullman Paris La Defense the lobby, restaurant and bar now offer “more space for both business related activities and relaxation”, and fibre optic technology has been installed throughout the hotel offering guests “free, very high speed wifi access”.

Rooms have been revamped by French designer Christophe Pillet, with “minimalist lines softened by vibrant colours”, and features including Nespresso machines, docking stations, rain showers and the signature Pullman bed.

Quinte&Sens restaurant features an open kitchen, while the ‘Connectivity Lounge’ (no longer simply a business centre it would seem) has been created in partnership with Microsoft, and the ‘Fit Lounge’ offers gym equipment and a wet sauna.

The remaining four Pullman properties will stay open while works are carried out, with the Pullman Paris Montparnasse unveiling its refurb in June, followed by the Pullman Paris Bercy in September, the Pullman Paris CDG in December, and the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel in April 2014.

The last of these is currently offering pop-up restaurant ‘180 Only’ for 180 days until July 7, while its main restaurant and bar is being refurbished.

The temporary eatery has views of the Tour Eiffel (located 180 metres from the venue), and is offering “A culinary voyage around the seven capital sins – with a different sin on the 7th of each month”.

Accor’s upmarket Pullman brand was revived in 2007, nearly 15 years after the offering was merged with the group’s Sofitel brand (see online news September 3, 2007).

Pullman opened its first property in the UK last year, when it converted the Novotel London St Pancras into the Pullman London St Pancras (see online news July 17, 2012).

It now has a portfolio of nearly 80 properties across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, with an objective of reaching 150 hotels by 2015-2020.
