Luxury hotel group Fairmont is to open its first property in Turkey in 2016, a 210-room hotel located in the Sisli district on the European side of Istanbul.
Fairmont Quasar Istanbul will form part of the new Quasar Istanbul mixed-use development, which will also include Fairmont-branded residences.
The hotel and residences will be housed within two adjacent 41-floor towers, which will sit above a four-floor office block also housing fitness facilities and luxury retail stores.
Facilities will include several restaurants, 2,000 sqm of events space, and the group’s signature Willow Stream Spa offering.
The complex will be situated next to the city’s former Mecidiyekoy Liqueur and Cognac Factory, which is set to be restored and redeveloped as a culture, fashion and arts centre.
Fairmont and its sister brand Raffles recently opened adjacent properties in Makati City, the financial centre of the Philippines (see online news January 8).
The group also opened its first hotel in Eastern Europe last year (see online news March 22, 2012), and is due to open a property within the Flame Towers complex in Baku, Azerbaijan later this year.
