British Airways (BA) has announced that the A380 will start flying its daily non-stop return London-Hong Kong service starting November 15.
The A380 is the largest aircraft in BA's fleet, and is able to accommodate 469 passengers: 14 in first, 97 in business or "Club World", 55 in "World Traveller Plus" premium economy and the rest in economy class. The two-deck aircraft will house first and premium economy on the main deck, while the other two classes will be spread over both levels. For a tour of the aircraft, click here.
This will make BA the first carrier to operate an A380 non-stop between Hong Kong and Europe.
“This is exciting news for our customers in Hong Kong, who will be able to enjoy the very latest technology and more spacious cabins when flying to and from London,” said Tracy Dedman, British Airways regional general manager, Greater China and the Philippines.
BA has 12 more A380s on order for delivery in 2016.
