Marriott International has opened the doors of a brand new property in Shanghai – the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Pudong East – making it the fifth Marriott-brand property and the group’s 20th property in the city.
The 323-room hotel is located close to two major industrial parks within the Pudong district and the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The property consists of an executive lounge on the 21st floor, four food and beverage outlets, including Marriott’s signature Chinese restaurant Man Ho, a gym, indoor heated swimming pool and spa.
As with other Marriott properties, wifi is complimentary for Marriott Rewards members.
This hotel opening is part of the group’s wider plan to open at least one hotel per month in China over the next five years (see story here). Marriott’s commitment to China is further evident in the launch of the Li Yu programme last year, to specifically targets outbound Chinese travellers (see story here).
