Tune Hotels to aggressively expand in Indonesia

Subsequent to the opening of the Tune Hotel Pasar Baru in Central Jakarta this month (see story here), Tune Hotels.com will establish seven more properties in the country by the end of next year. Red Planet has partnered with TuneHotels.com through a regional franchise agreement covering China, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Bangladesh.

Opened on July 12, 2012, the 168-room Tune Hotel Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta is the pioneer of the brand into the Indonesian market. Located in a commercial area and close to clothing wholesale markets, the hotel expects to attract an equal mix of domestic travellers and international travellers, said a pressroom official of Red Planet Hotel. Coming next is the 143-room Tune Hotel Pekanbaru, Sumatra, to start operation on December 10, 2012. Situated in a downtown business area with telecommunications and car manufacturing as the major industries, the hotel mainly targets business travellers, said the spokesperson.

Six more Tune Hotels is set to open in Indonesia next year. According to Red Planet Hotel’s pressroom, Tune Hotel Makassar, which will open on February 11, 2013, is located in an area with headquarters of construction companies and picturesque attractions. The hotel expects about the same amount of customers from business travel and domestic leisure travel. Besides, he added, Tune Hotel Solo City, Java to open on April 25, 2013 will cater to the leisure market. Also joining the line is the domestic tourism-oriented Tune Hotel Palembang, Sumatra. As for Tune Hotel Tangerang, Jakarta, Tune Hotel Surabaya, Java and Tune Hotel Bekasi, Jakarta, which will position in central business districts where finance corporations are booming, business travellers is expected to be the major source of customers.

Tune Hotels.com has quickly established itself as one of the fast growing players in the budget hotels sphere, with 25 properties globally at the moment.

Customers in Indonesia welcome the hotel's 'pay as you use concept', commented a spokesperson of Red Planet Hotel, as it has received positive feedback from guests in Tune Hotel Pasar Baru, Jakarta. The concept, as a means to reduce room rates, provides customers with hotel rooms with only necessary amenities for sleep and shower, while offering options for guests to choose to pay for additional amenities like air-conditioning, wifi and television.
