W Guangzhou aims to open by year-end

8 Jun 2012

Nearly a year after its original launch date (see story here), the edgy W Hotels brand is planning to open the doors of its first property in mainland China by October this year, according to its official website.

The dark-colour and uniquely designed building that houses W Guangzhou is located in the booming commercial district of Zhujiang, and features 285 Wonderful rooms, 27 W Suites, four WOW Suites and an Extreme WOW Suite. All rooms come with standard amenities and high-speed wifi.

The property will also include a business centre and 1,370 sqm of event space and studios for meetings and conferences.

On top of its signature fitness and spa facilities, the hotel will take things one step further in terms of service, with a 24-hour “Whatever/Whenever” concierge offering, where staff promise to deliver “Whatever you want. Whenever you want it, (as long as it’s legal)”.

There will also be four dining options for guests to choose from: Japanese restaurant Inagiku, The Kitchen Table, the Living Room and a Chinese restaurant.

A Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide operation, this hotel offers travel rewards to members of Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and Starwood Preferred Planner programmes. For a story about the latest revamp of SPG, click here

W Hotels in Beijing and Shanghai are currently under construction and set to open in 2014.
