Taipei-based China Airlines (CAL) has announced increased frequencies on flights to Jakarta via Hong Kong and flights to Yangon from May 6 onwards.
First the carrier will add three more flights on the Taipei-Hong Kong-Jakarta route departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. In addition to the current daily flights, this will bring the total to 10 per week.
The flight departs Taipei at 2200, arriving in Hong Kong at 2345. From Hong Kong, CAL departs at 0100, arriving in Jakarta at 0445. The return leg departs Jakarta at 0050, arriving in Hong Kong at 0645. From there the flight departs at 0820, arriving back in Taipei at 0955.
Then, on May 15, CAL will add one flight per week on the Taipei-Yangon route in response to high demand. The extra service, operating on Tuesdays, will depart Taipei at 0715, arriving in Yangon at 1010, while the return leg will depart at 1110, touching down at the carrier’s home base at 1635.
While Hong Kong and Jakarta are established business locations, Yangon’s appeal is starting to emerge given recent political reforms in Burma.
