SAS will serve Shanghai from March 1

1 Feb 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Scandinavian flag-carrier SAS is expanding its Asian network with a new five times a week service linking Copenhagen with Shanghai.

Flights are operated by a three class A340-300 and take 10 hrs and 10 mins eastbound, 11 hrs and 20 mins westbound.

The new SAS service is timed to offer connections for passengers originating in Scandinavian cities like Oslo, Stockholm and Gothenburg. This is a market which, until now, rival carrier Finnair has attracted thanks to connections available through its Helsinki hub.

SAS flights are also timed to provide first rate links for passengers starting and finishing their journeys in London.

Travellers taking flight SK504 leave Heathrow at 1405 will reach Copenhagen at 1655. Onward flight SK997 leaves 90 minutes later at 1825 to arrive into Shanghai the following day at 1135.

Return daytime service SK998 departs Shanghai at 1425 to land at Copenhagen at 1845. This links with SK1501 which departs 85 minutes later at 2010 to reach Heathrow at 2110.
