BA and Air Berlin will codeshare on over 40 routes from next month, ahead of the German carrier’s entry into the Oneworld alliance next year. Codeshare flights will commence on July 5, with BA placing its code on Air Berlin’s routes from Hanover and Nuremburg to Gatwick, and from Paderborn Lippstadt and Munster Osnabruck to Stansted. At the same time Air Berlin will start codesharing on BA’s point-to-point routes between Germany and London Heathrow, Gatwick and City airports. The codeshare agreement will also apply to domestic connecting travel within each carrier's home market. For a full list of the codeshare flights, click here. Air Berlin is set to join the Oneworld alliance in early 2012. Often viewed as a low-cost carrier, the airline offers free snacks and drinks on flights, as well as complimentary newspapers, assigned seating, and a frequent flyer loyalty scheme. Note though that the carrier operates a single class service within Europe, compared with BA’s two class Euro Traveller and Club Europe offering. For more information visit ba.com, airberlin.com.
