Hotel Indigo debuts in Glasgow

15 Apr 2011 by BusinessTraveller

IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand has opened its third UK property, a 95-room hotel in Glasgow’s financial district.

The converted property is located in a building previously housing Glasgow’s first power station, and features Limelight Bar and Grill, a fitness centre, free wifi, and design elements including a mural of famous Glaswegians, and paintings of 25 of Glasgow’s greatest heroes created by 25 up-and-coming local artists.

The hotel is situated on Waterloo Street in the city’s financial district, close to Central Station, and joins seven other IHG properties in Glasgow - one Crowne Plaza, three Holiday Inns and three Holiday Inn Express hotels.

Hotel Indigo Glasgow joins existing UK properties in London’s Paddington and Tower Hill districts, with a fourth hotel due to open in Liverpool in June, and Edinburgh, Birmingham and Newcastle branches all set to open next year.
