The Irish carrier will operate a daily morning service between the cities, complementing its existing flights from Heathrow to Shannon.
The new route will commence on March 27, with flight EI917 departing Gatwick at 0650 and arriving in Shannon at 0815. The return leg EI916 will leave Shannon at 0900, landing back in London at 1025.
The new service means Aer Lingus will offer a total of four daily flights between London and Shannon, with three existing services departing Heathrow at 0950, 1450 and 1925.
Ryanair currently serves Shannon from both Gatwick (a six-times weekly lunchtime service) and Stansted (a morning weekday flight and a daily evening service).
The new Aer Lingus route means the carrier will serve a total of nine destinations out of Shannon, including the recently inaugurated Paris CDG service (see online news October 27).
