Sol Melia launches mobile app for smartphones

4 Oct 2010

Spanish hotel chain, Sol Melia, has launched a new mobile application that allows people to make room reservations via their iPhone, BlackBerry and Android smartphones.

The application is available for download in English and Spanish, at no charge, from the chain's website and from the service providers' application stores. The new online booking tool taps the mobile device's GPS feature to locate the nearest Sol Melia hotel in the vicinity. It also allows smartphone users to access exclusive "mobile only" offers.

Furthermore, the application allows members of Sol Melia's mas loyalty programme to manage their account from their smartphones. Mas members are also entitled to 500 bonus points if they book a room using the mobile software before October 31, 2010.
