Bmi has kept the details of its Bmifriday flight sale a closely-guarded secret resulting in a fair amount of anticipation. But with less than an hour before it goes live, Bmi has released more details to whet our appetites.
Bmifriday is set to become a monthly promotion, falling on the last Friday of every month and involving a number of destinations only revealed at midday.
Bmi said customers can expect savings of up to 42 per cent on flights departing from a number of its UK airports. The sale will last until 1700.
The airline has taken the opportunity to launch a fairly extensive social media campaign, with many references to its Twitter page. The Bmifriday promotion also has its own Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
Katherine Gershon, sales and marketing director for Bmi, revealed the reason behind the promotion’s timing.
“The last Friday of the month is payday for most people so we know that customers will be in the mood to snap up a bargain,” she said.
