US-based hotel chain Carlson Hotels will open by year-end a 254-room property two kilometres from Chengdu International Airport, an important air hub in central west China. Chengdu is a major commercial, manufacturing and IT centre in the region.
The Park Plaza Chengdu South will be the chain’s 14th property in Asia-Pacific, keeping Carlson on track of target to grow its portfolio by at least 50 percent – with more than 1,500 hotels in operations – by 2015. Park Plaza Chengdu South is one of four recent signing announcements made recently by the chain in China.
“The opening of this hotel will further strengthen our mid-market offering and address the demand for comfortable yet affordable accommodation in China,” said Jean-Marc Busato, managing director of Carlson Hotels, Asia-Pacifc.
To be located in the northern part of Chan Nan Airport Road, Park Plaza Chengdu South is five-minutes away from the airport and is only a 10-minute drive to the city centre.
The hotel will feature comfortable, stylish and spacious guestrooms and facilities, which will include five meeting rooms, a business centre, fully equipped fitness centre, a lobby lounge and bar as well as an all-day-dining restaurant with exclusive, private Chinese-style dining rooms.
Carlson Hotels has more than 1,000 properties worldwide under the following hotel brands: Radisson, Counry Inns and Suites By Carlson, Park Inn, Park Plaza and Regent.
