Starwood has unveiled plans for a second St Regis property in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi, further bolstering its development pipeline in the region.
The St Regis Abu Dhabi, owned by International Capital Trading (ICT) but operated by Starwood, will occupy floors 33 and upwards of Abu Dhabi’s Nation Towers, a two-tower mixed-use development located on the city’s waterfront.
The 281 rooms include 56 suites. Other facilities include signature restaurants, a destination bar, a sky bridge restaurant, more than 4,800sqm of meeting and event space, a large spa and gym and an outdoor swimming pool. A separate beach club adjacent to the hotel and operated by Starwood will also be available to guests.
Starwood runs almost 50 hotels throughout the Middle East region, with more than 20 projects in the development pipeline.
The luxury brand debuted in Mexico City last year (see online news August 8), and more recently announced plans to open two new properties in China (see online news February 20).
