Dusit International may not have yet gone all the way to offer guests free internet access on a chain wide basis, but it’s working on it.
Dusit Thani Dubai yesterday joined Dusit Thani Bangkok, dusitD2 Baraquda Pattaya and Dusit Residence Dubai Marina in providing unlimited broadband internet connectivity in the guestrooms, restaurants, public areas, executive lounge and function rooms.
“The internet has become a vital part of the way we communicate and stay connected,” said Doug King, general manager of Dusit Thani Dubai. “It’s a service that travellers, whether on business or leisure, consider a part of their daily routine.
“Saving on internet charges will help them in this current economic climate.”
According to Chutimaporn Kasemsuk, Dusit International corporate international PR manager, free internet access will be rolled out in other properties in the near future.
Of late, more hotel chains have been acquiescing to customer demand for free internet access, but on a limited scale. It was Shangri-La, which took the unprecedented step in February of implementing the initiative on a chainwide basis.
