New routes

  • Zoom Airlines has started a twice-weekly service from London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale, departing London on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Aegean Airlines has launched a twice-daily route between London Stansted and Athens, with flights departing London at 1020 and 2000.
  • Easyjet has launched a daily service from London Gatwick to the western French city of Nantes.
  • Aer Arann has commenced new routes between Cork and Brest, La Rochelle and Lorient.
  • Lithuanian Airlines has started a twice-weekly service to Vilnius from Stansted, departing London on Friday and Sunday at 0815.

New hotels

  • Rezidor has announced its first Ethiopian property. The Radisson Hotel Addis Ababa will feature 209 rooms and is due to open in late 2009.
  • Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants is to open a 222-room hotel in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. The VU is slated to open in September 2008.
  • Premier Inn is due to open a new property in Manchester in June, with hotels in Reading and Bournemouth following in July.
  • Golden Tulip is to open a 200-room hotel in the Dutch town of Oegstgeest, with the Golden Tulip Corpus Oegstgeest slated for a 2009 opening.
  • Starwood will welcome its latest Chinese property next month, when the Westin Beijing Chaoyang opens its doors.
