MartynSinclairParticipantI find it unbelievable that here in the States, NO television station is showing live coverage of London 2012.
I am able to get snippets via BBC World news, but no television shots.
Hugely disappointing for this British traveller and his family.

CommunipawParticipantMr. Sinclair:
“Ask and ye shall receive”
Go to freecast.com and you can watch all the action live.
Hope you’re having a good visit here.
Regards….

MartynSinclairParticipantThank you both for your technical support. I did try to get into Skynews via my UK company server (thru a VPN), but it did not connect too well.
It is now 6.30p on the east coast, so will wait for the 7.30p showing.
I just find it very strange that this was not shown live in the USA.

dubtravellerParticipantMartyn, find myself in same situation (up here in Long Island) – believe that NBC has got all rights, with re-broadcast starting at 7.30pm…how is Florida?! regards, Chris

MartynSinclairParticipantHi Chris, hot hot hot down in Orlando with Mickey & Co.
Got the take away, closed all links to UK as I dont want to spoil it, sitting together as a family, which never happens in London, ready to watch the opening ceremony. 3 minutes to go.
Regards
Martyn

CommunipawParticipantHey now! :p
To quote Geoffrey Hughes as “Onslow”: “Oh nice!”

LuganoPirateParticipantMartyn, dub, lot of press on that. Seems it’s down to advertising revenue. They get more per second during peak times than they do in the afternoon.
Happy hols, I arrived in Knysna and it’s not stopped raining!

MartynSinclairParticipantLP – lovely weather here in Florida, happy hols and here’s to a good medal tally for team GB.
Oh, I am being educated by McDonalds about healthy eating (adverts).

millionsofmilesParticipantSeems they cant press the usual 40% ads in the time frame…and the TV rights would have to be paid for, so they rather get you the 56th replay of a 1980ies soap.
There is no real News TV even: US CNN is dumbed down below relief (FUBAR),e.g. (“the cow of Joe the farmer in Pcity, Nebraska, gave birth to a cow with 3 tails and such important messages…)
Fauxnews is just a pro-Repubs and contra-Obama station, no news. And the other network show ads, supplemented by some crap soaps. Waste of electricity.

LuganoPirateParticipantMy boys are envious of your kids Martyn, Mrs. LP is on some new wave eating fad which includes juiced wheat grass!!! Ugh! We’re gagging for a MCD but she says NO!
Binman is right, the opening ceremony was brilliant and it seems everyone got there, no one was left stranded by UKBA at Heathrow! It did make me feel proud to be British a well.
It seems however, the IOC has forbidden YouTube from showing the best bits of the ceremony claiming copyright. Typical spoilsports.
