Another empty train. This time it’s one of Greater Anglia’s brand new Swiss (Stadler) trainsets.
A colleague is on a leisure trip @greateranglia brand new, superb Stadler train empty. After decades of working to get people on public transport this is sad. Governments were doing the right thing and investing.

Today it’s announced that LNER has taken the lead in filling empty seats in peak period.
Peak hour restrictions have been removed for customers booking Super Off-Peak tickets on a Friday between August 21 and January 4.
For anyone planning a weekend away (out Friday, back Sunday) this is good news.
I agree it’s only on a Friday and only until January 4 but at least it’s a start.
One would hope other mainline TOCs will follow LNER’s lead.
