C2S – Aer Lingus has not been a member of oneworld since 31 March 2007, though they do codeshare with a few OW members.

fcp – IAG and Willy Walsh have said that it is their intention to re-integrate EI into the alliance, though no timelines have yet been announced.

Why resurrect this thread when most of the questions have been dealt with on……?

    http://www.businesstraveller.com/discussion/topic/Aer-Lingus-reject-BA-Takeover-Offer

    I repeat what I then wrote….

After the closing bell yesterday (30/7) IAG announced that acceptances for the offer to Aer Lingus´shareholders had reached 62.48%.

However, apparently,it does not include the acceptance by Ryanair which has been stated but not received. It does, though, go on to say the following.

“IAG and AERL Holding have waived the 90 per cent acceptance condition and confirms the Offer is now unconditional as to acceptances.”

“IAG announces that the Offer will remain open for acceptance until 1300 (Irish time) on 18 August 2015. There will be no further extension of the Offer unless the Offer has become wholly unconditional at that time and date.”

The sale of the Ryanair 28.9% shareholding will thus be decided formally by 18-8-15, when the closure of the sale should become a formality. (without further acceptances the sale would achieve a 91.38% acceptance which would make it unconditional.)
