Air France has outlined plans to introduce its latest economy, premium economy and business class cabins onto several new long-haul routes this summer.

In 2022 Air France unveiled a new business class suite product for its 12 refurbished Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, followed by a suite design for its newly delivered Airbus A350-900s last year.

The two products are actually by different manufacturers – the Safran Versa seat in the case of the 777-300ERs, and the Stelia OPERA seat for the A350-900s.

But both are based on what Air France is calling the “3 Fs” – Full Flat, Full Access and Full Privacy – the last of which translates to a sliding privacy door for each suite.

Both aircraft also feature the carrier’s latest premium economy seat – which offer 96cm of legroom, a 124-degree recline, USB A and C charging ports, and an integrated noise reducing headset. New economy seats also feature USB A charging ports and 4K HD screen with Bluetooth connection.

Air France said that the new cabins would be introduced on flights to Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Papeete (the capital of French Polynesia), Mexico and Tokyo Narita this summer.

These destinations will join New York JFK, New York Newark, Washington DC, Boston, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Dakar, Tokyo Haneda, Hong Kong, Seoul Incheon, Shanghai and Johannesburg.

The announcement came as Air France said its long-haul capacity would be up 9 per cent this summer compared to 2023 – the carrier recently confirmed plans for a new route to Phoenix launching in May, which will become the airline’s 18th US destination.
