Turkish Airlines has become a partner of Melbourne Victory Football Club, and beginning with the 2024/25 season, will remain their new principal partner for the next three years.

The partnership was announced shortly after Turkish Airlines’s inaugural flight to Melbourne on 4 March 2024, marking its first foray into Australia, and expanding the airline’s network to six continents. The new route will offer three weekly flights to Melbourne – and the airline is also planning to add Sydney to its network by the end of 2024.

Commenting on the new partnership, Turkish Airlines chairman of the board and the executive committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, stated: “We are glad to embark on this journey with Melbourne Victory—it’s a truly fitting partnership right now as we celebrate our inaugural entry into the vibrant city of Melbourne. Leveraging our shared values of excellence and passion for success to create memorable experiences for football fans and travellers alike is traditional for our airline at this point as we support numerous clubs in many athletic branches.”

Turkish Airlines has had a long history of supporting numerous different sports disciplines and teams across the world, from football and basketball to golf, equestrian sports, free-diving, and more. Some of its other sponsorships have included the Türkiye National Football Teams and UEFA Champions League, as well as Galatasaray SK, the Türkiye Women’s National Volleyball Team, Trabzonspor, Konyaspor, Sivasspor, Başakşehir FK, FK Sarajevo, and Neftchi PFK, to name some.
