American Express has launched a new promotion for holders of its Gold credit card.

The normal 10 per cent cashback at participating dining venues has been increased to 20 per cent for three months between 19 February and 19 May, 2024.

The offer is valid at more than 1,000 locations across the UK, with no limit to the amount of cashback that can be earned per visit, and no cap on the number of times cardholders can use the offer overall or per restaurant.

Highlighted chains which participate in the Amex cashback offer include GBK, Carluccio’s, Honest Burgers, Gordon Ramsay, Sticks’N’Sushi, Soho Coffee Co, Hawksmoor and Gaucho.

To redeem the offer cardholders need to save it to their card via the Amex app or at americanexpress.com.

Note that holders of other American Express cards which offer dining cashback (the Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card, Platinum Cashback Credit Card, The Platinum Card, The Centurion Card and select business Cards) will continue to get 10 per cent cashback during the promotional period.

In October Amex announced plans to increase the annual fee for its Gold credit card (charged after the first year) to £195.

Eligible customers can currently get 20,000 Rewards points when applying for the Gold card and spending £3,000 in the first three months of Cardmembership.
