Low-cost carrier Vueling has announced two new routes from London Heathrow airport to Barcelona El Prat and Paris Orly, launching on 7 April.

Vueling last operated out of Heathrow in March 2020, with the route to A Coruña in northwestern Spain.

The carrier is returning this spring, operating the only flight from London Heathrow to Paris Orly, which it says will “offer a great value option” for travel to the Paris Olympics this summer. The flights will take place once daily.

The airline will also operate two flights per day from LHR to Barcelona El Prat, adding to its existing eight daily flights from London Gatwick. Vueling will, therefore, operate a total of ten flights per day from London to Barcelona.

Flights are currently on sale and will operate from Heathrow’s Terminal 4. Vueling is part of the International Airlines Group (IAG) and has secured slots from sister carrier BA to launch the routes.

Carolyn Prowse, chief commercial, customer, network and strategy officer commented that the launch “has been possible thanks to [the carrier’s] strong collaboration with British Airways”.

We covered the forthcoming Paris Olympics in a feature published in the November 2023 issue of the magazine:
