Z Hotels has announced plans for its 12th London property, located adjacent to Leicester Square.

The group has secured a £23 million loan from OakNorth Bank and ASK Partners, to acquire and convert a five storey office building on Charing Cross Road into a hotel offering between 81 and 95 rooms.

The news follows OakNorth’s recent provision of a loan to enable Z Hotels to expand its existing property in London’s Piccadilly district.

Z Hotels to expand London Piccadilly property

Z Hotels was founded by Bev King, former COO of Thistle Hotels, with the first property opening in Soho in 2011.

The group now has 14 sites operational – 11 in London and one each in Liverpool, Bath and Glasgow.

Business Traveller has reviewed several Z Hotels properties over the years – see the links below:

Commenting on the news Bev King, CEO at Z Hotels, said:

“Our guests predominantly want to spend a couple of nights in a city centre location either for business or pleasure, to explore the city, and to sleep in generously designed surroundings.

“This new site situated on Leicester Square’s doorstep embodies this demand perfectly, providing our residents with compact but well-designed bedrooms at affordable prices.

“Our relationship with OakNorth and ASK now spans multiple transactions and we see them both as key funding partners who we know we can rely on to support our ambitious growth targets.”
