Meliá Hotels International has signed an agreement with Guangzhou Aocheng Investment for the first ME by Meliá hotel in the Asia-Pacific region.

This collaboration will mark a significant milestone for Meliá’s ME by Meliá brand as it makes its debut in the region.

Set to open its doors in 2027, ME Guangzhou will feature 120 rooms and suites.

Moreover, the hotel will boast a diverse array of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty venues, a Mediterranean-style bistro, and a rooftop bar.

The property will also feature state-of-the-art facilities to cater to the needs of both business and leisure travellers, including ballrooms and meeting rooms, as well as a spa and fitness centre.

Located at Guangzhou Macau Place, within the Guangzhou International Financial City-Huangpu Bay Business Circle, ME Guangzhou will open in a prime location that is poised to become the second central business district of Guangzhou.

The region is currently experiencing rapid progress with the commencement of the construction of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Express Rail Link next year, which aims to strengthen connectivity between key cities in Southern China, including Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and across the border to neighbouring Hong Kong.

ME by Meliá represents the epitome of contemporary European culture, the Spanish hotel group says.

Currently, the brand has several properties open, including in London, Barcelona, Madrid, Ibiza, and Dubai.

In addition to ME Guangzhou, the ME by Meliá brand will open more hotels in 2023 and 2024 in Malaga, Malta, Lisbon, and Guadalajara in Mexico.

Founded in 1956 in Mallorca, Meliá Hotels International has a portfolio of more than 400 hotels operational and in the pipeline.
