LATAM has announced plans to launch flights between London Heathrow and the Peruvian capital Lima this winter.
The new route will be operated by subsidiary LATAM Airlines Peru, and will start on 2 December.
There will be five flights per week, departing Lima at 2100 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving into London at 1400 the following day, with the return leg leaving Heathrow at 2230 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, landing into Lima at 0635 the following day.
The 12-hour service will be served by a Boeing 787 aircraft configured with 30 seats in Premium Business seats and 270 in economy.
There are currently no nonstop flights between the UK and Peru – British Airways has previously flown between Gatwick and the Peruvian capital, but the route was cancelled after one season.
In June Iberia increased the frequency of its flights to Lima from seven to ten per week“with the intention of reaching two daily flights”.
The new London-Lima service adds to LATAM’s existing daily flights between Heathrow and Sao Paulo.
