The Ascott Ltd has announced plans to add the first property under The Crest Collection in the UK.

Earlier this year the group outlined expansion plans for the brand, with locations including Jakarta, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka and London.

At the time there were no details on the property in the UK capital, but it has now been confirmed that The Cavendish London is set to be rebranded as a Crest Collection hotel following refurbishment.

The Ascott outlines expansion of The Crest Collection

The 230-key hotel is located on Jermyn Street behind Fortnum & Mason in London’s Mayfair district. Business Traveller last reviewed the property back in 2011.

The hotel will undergo a year-long phased renovation project starting in the fourth quarter of 2024, after CapitaLand Ascott Trust signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Ascott Limited for the proposed acquisition of three properties – The Cavendish London, Temple Bar hotel in Dublin, and Ascott Kuningan Jakarta.

Serviced apartment provider Ascott launched The Crest Collection in 2016, initially with three rebranded Citadines properties in Paris, and growth has been limited, with just eight hotels listed on the group’s website.

Ascott describes The Crest Collection as “a global portfolio of charming bespoke hotels and serviced residences that integrates heritage stories with curated hospitality experiences”.

Business Traveller reviewed the brand’s La Clef Tour Eiffel last year, a property which is currently undergoing refurbishment in times for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
