Marriott Bonvoy members can now earn points at City Express properties, following the integration of the brand into the programme.
Marriott announced plans to acquire the City Express brand last year, in a US$100 million deal with Mexican company Hotels City Express.
The agreement has added around 150 City Express by Marriott properties in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The former City Premios Rewards programme has now been fully integrated into the Marriott Bonvoy scheme, with members able to transfer existing points balances until 30 September.
A status match is also being offered during the transition phase, and selected City Premios benefits including gift card redemptions at third-party vendors such as Cineopolis will continue to be available with Marriott Bonvoy.
Redemption of Marriott Bonvoy points at City Express properties is also set to go live in the coming days.
Last month Marriott announced a new agreement with MGM Resorts International, which will see 17 properties marketed under the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy brand.
