Delta has opened its latest Sky Club lounge at New York JFK, located within the airport’s Terminal 4.
The 14,000 square foot (1,300 sqm) facility is situated close to Gate A7, and offers seats for more than 250 guests, with features including a fireplace lounge with views of the airfield, a nook with “lush green seating evoking the elegance and privacy of a classic speakeasy”, and a centrepiece 350-degree bar.
Delta has partnered with Elyssa Heller, founder and CEO of Edith’s Eatery and Grocery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to offer guests dishes including brisket hash sandwich, vegetarian latkes and labneh parfait, and a vegan Iced Café Slushie.
The opening of the JFK T4-A lounge follows the consolidation of Delta’s operations at the airport earlier this year, as part of the carrier’s $1.5 billion expansion project at the New York hub.
The expansion of Concourse B is expected to be completed this autumn, and will include 28 gates, updated rest rooms and an expanded security checkpoint and baggage claim area.
The new Concourse A lounge joins Delta’s existing Sky Club within Concourse B – the airline is also set to open its first Delta One lounge at JFK in 2024, located next to the main security checkpoint in Terminal 4.
This summer Delta is operating more than 230 daily departures to 95 destinations from JFK. The carrier is offering its largest ever transatlantic schedule from the airport, with more than 230 weekly departures including the recently added Gatwick service.
Commenting on the news Claude Roussel, managing director – Delta Sky Club, said:
“This new Club is beautifully designed and packed with special details that reflect the magic of New York City. But much more important than that, it’s a place where our people can deliver Delta Sky Club’s signature hospitality, making each guest feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they step inside.”
