Emirates is launching a new option for business class passengers to pre-select their inflight meal before they fly.
The pre-ordering initiative will be rolled out from 25 July on all flights between Dubai and London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports.
Passengers will be able to browse the onboard menu on the website or via the Emirates app from 14 days until 24 hours before their flight and secure the hot main meal of their choice. Passengers will also be able to pre-order from a choice of special meals.
Cabin crew will then access this information onboard the aircraft and serve passengers their choice of main meal.

This initiative joins a growing trend of airlines that are looking for solutions to improve passenger satisfaction while also helping to reduce food wastage – read more in our latest feature on airline catering.
The meal pre-ordering service will be added to an existing suite of AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and cabin crew reports, which help to facilitate menu planning and optimal food loading.
Emirates has stated it plans to expand the meal pre-order initiative to more routes and classes in the near future after closely monitoring customer feedback from the initial roll out phase.
