British Airways has unveiled its Heathrow T5 Whispering Angel rosé wine bar.
The launch marks the first stage of a wider refresh of the lounge, which is located near the terminal’s B gates.
The bar will exclusively serve Whispering Angel rosé from Château d’Esclans, a vineyard owned by winemaker Sacha Lichine.
The wine has been marketed heavily across the UK in recent months – I visited the rooftop bar of the AMANO Covent Garden hotel last week, and it also currently has a pop-up Whispering Angel partnership.
And in April Virgin Atlantic announced plans to offer the rosé wine to its Upper Class customers as part of its spring/summer 2023 inflight menu.
Whispering Angel is currently available at all of BA’s First and Club lounges at Gatwick and Heathrow, and can also be pre-ordered on the carrier’s short-haul flights through the rebranded High Life Café.
As part of the agreement guests at the carrier’s Club lounges will be able to enjoy The Pale Rosé by Château d’Esclans, and Rock Angel – described as Whispering Angel’s “big brother” – is also currently available in BA’s First cabins.
Commenting on the news Calum Laming, British Airways’ chief customer officer, said:
“We are really excited to open the doors on our new original Whispering Angel bar, just in time for the start of the summer season.
What’s more, the opening coincides with the exciting news that customers now have the option to pre-order Whispering Angel across all short-haul flights, to take the experience with them, from the ground to the skies.”
