London Biggin Hill airport is set to welcome a new boutique hotel towards the end of the year.
The four-star Landing Biggin Hill is scheduled to open in December, and will be situated alongside the airport’s runway 03.
Features will include 56 rooms with walk-in showers, 55-inch TVs, blackout curtains and acoustics “designed specifically for our airport location to ensure that you have a quiet and relaxing stay”. Selected rooms will also offer runway views.
The Approach bar and restaurant will be located on the first floor of the property, and will offer breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea and dinner, with early-rising guests able to opt for “a luxury ‘Rise & Shine’ breakfast bag from 5am”.
The website for Landing Biggin Hill advises that a new booking engine is being built to enable customers to book online, until which queries can be left via an online form.
A former military airfield during World War I and World War II, London Biggin Hill is situated in the borough of Bromley, 12 miles southeast of central London
The airport describes itself as “the only dedicated Business and General Aviation airport in London”… specialising “in meeting the growing demand for non-scheduled air transport services and private flights”.
The site is also home to the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar, a restoration facility which currently houses 13 Spitfires as well as a 1940 Hawker Hurricane and Battle of Britain veteran Messerschmitt 109.
