Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has confirmed that it will launch a service from Jeddah in the kingdom to Seoul in South Korea, with a stopover in Riyadh, starting August 16, 2022.

The airline will operate its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route. The aircraft is configured in two classes with 24 flat bed seats in business class and 274 seats in guest class.

SV898 will depart from Jeddah at 1am with a brief stop at Riyadh and arrive at Incheon International airport at 7.50pm local time.

The return flight SV899 will then depart Seoul Incheon at 9.40pm, and arrive in Riyadh at 2.10am after which it will depart and land in Jeddah at 4.45am.

“Saudia’s debut into South Korea will mean more choices for travellers from both countries and beyond to our far-reaching network, alongside our signature hospitality and award-winning onboard experience,” said Ahmed Alwassiah, acting chief executive officer at Saudia.

This direct route will have a positive impact not only on the tourism sector, but also the business, logistics, investment, and manufacturing sector as it aims to serve multiple segments of guests.”

Meanwhile, the airline has recently launched new services to several destinations including Bangkok, Barcelona, Malaga, Marrakech, Mykonos, Entebbe, and Zurich. The kingdom’s national carrier said that it plans to add extra flights and seats wherever necessary to cater to demand.
