Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline, Flynas, has said that it will resume direct services to AlUla from Riyadh and Dammam in the kingdom, and to Dubai internationally as well.
The Dubai to AlUla service will operate every Friday starting June 24. The AlUla to Dubai flight will be undertaken every Sunday starting June 26. The carrier said that it will double the number of weekly return flights between Dubai and AlUla in September.
The AlUla to Dammam route meanwhile will operate every Thursday starting June 23, while the flight from AlUla to Dammam will be flown every Sunday from June 26.
The second domestic route from AlUla to Riyadh will start every Sunday from June 24 onwards, and from Riyadh to AlUla every Friday beginning June 26. Like Dubai, Flynas said that it will double the number of weekly return flights between AlUla and Riyadh in September.
In March, the board of directors at Flynas approved raising the volume of its orders to 250 aircraft.
This was in support of the Saudi’s Civil Aviation Strategy which aims to increase the annual passenger traffic to 330 million and connect the kingdom with more than 250 destinations worldwide by 2030.
Flynas has a fleet of 35 aircraft, operating more than 1,500 weekly flights to 70 domestic and international destinations. Since its launch in 2007, it has reportedly transported over 60 million passengers.
In May, the carrier said that it had secured a SAR844 million equivalent Murabaha corporate financing facility, the first tranche of a SAR2.25 billion financing programme, to support it growth.
