IHG Hotels and Resorts has unveiled a new Holiday Inn Express property in New Zealand’s largest city of Auckland.
The 294-room Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre is part of a dual-branded development which also includes a recently unveiled Voco property, and which together form New Zealand’s tallest hotel development.
Guests benefit from free wifi and a complimentary Express Start Breakfast with a grab and go option, served in the all day dining restaurant The Great Room, while other facilities include a fitness centre, three meeting rooms and a self-service laundry.
As a dual-branded development guests also have access to facilities at the Voco Auckland City Centre, which include all day dining restaurant Mozzarella and Co, and the Art Deco style Bar Albert, which will become New Zealand’s highest rooftop bar when it opens in early August.
The Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre is the second property under the brand in New Zealand, joining the existing Holiday Inn Express and Suites Queenstown.

Commenting on the opening Shantha de Silva, chief operating officer of operator Pro-invest Hotels, said:
“Much thought has been put into every detail of this hotel and we are very proud to have the Holiday Inn Express brand sitting alongside Voco Hotel in New Zealand’s first dual branded hotel development.
“This year has been a year of ‘firsts’ for Pro-invest Hotels and the opening of this hotel tower marks a major milestone for our business. We were the first to bring the Voco brand to New Zealand and the first to bring Holiday Inn Express to the country with our Queenstown property.
“Now, with quarantine free travel returning to New Zealand we look forward to welcoming travellers to Auckland and can’t wait for our guests to experience these new properties.”
