Changi Airport has set up a karting track in Terminal 4. The Terminal, which has been closed since 2020 is now the venue for the Changi Festive Village, attracting visitors both from Singapore and those with some hours to kill at the airport.
Many of the activities in the Changi Festive Village are aimed at children, but there is the opportunity to fulfil an ambition few of us knew we had until given the chance: go-karting between check-in counters.

Called Dino Kart 2.0 (because there is a dinosaur theme to the Festive Village), there are two options for racing: a Novice circuit (Singapore $15-18) and a Pro-circuit (Singapore $18-25).
The electric go-karts on the pro circuit have a top speed of 26 km/h and speed through the check-in area across the marble and carpet, and at night you race under neon lights.

For those with permission (see our piece on VTL flights and entry restrictions – Visiting Singapore with the VTL), the closure of the Crowne Plaza Airport hotel leaves the alternative of glamping in luxury tents within the terminal.
This is available from December 3, 2021 until January 2, 2022, with a check-in at 1500 for departure by 1100 the next day. The cost is $360 (Mon – Wed); $390 (Thu – Sun) and $420 (December 24, 25, 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022)
Also at the Village is a pop-up food court serving some great local and international food.
It’s easy to get to with shuttle buses between Terminal 3 (door 8) and T4. Activities currently run until Jan 2, 2022.
