Westjet to launch Toronto-Dublin route

Westjet has announced plans for a seasonal service between Toronto and Dublin for next summer.

The route will launch on May 15, 2022, initially with four flights per week before increasing to daily from June 2, 2022 – schedules can be seen in the table below.

Flights will be served by the carrier’s B737 Max aircraft, which are configured for 174 seats, with three rows of Plus seating at the front (in a 2-2 layout with the middle seat blocked), and a further 11 rows offering a seat pitch of 34 inches.

Westjet will join Aer Lingus, Air Canada and Air Transat on the Toronto-Dublin route. The carrier already offers seasonal flights to Dublin from Calgary and Halifax.

Commenting on the news Vincent Harrison, managing director of Dublin airport said that it was “exciting for business and tourism at both ends of the route as it connects Toronto, as the capital of the province of Ontario, with Ireland’s capital city, Dublin”.

“It’s a welcome boost to transatlantic connectivity and great to see another Canadian destination added to our growing Dublin Airport network and to witness the further expansion of Westjet’s operation here in Ireland,” continued Harrison.

“We have been working closely with Westjet since 2014 to grow its business and build a substantial base here in Dublin. This new service between Toronto and Dublin further cements the strong and enduring cultural and business ties between our two great countries.”

Westjet recently resumed flights between Calgary and Paris, adding to the carrier’s existing European services from Calgary to Amsterdam and London Gatwick.
