Marriott International has opened its first JW Marriott hotel in the US city of Charlotte.

The 381-room hotel is located in a 23-storey building in the Uptown neighbourhood and forms part of the Ally Charlotte Center, with a pedestrian-friendly community area developed by Crescent Communities which features office space, retail areas, and urban gardens.

It is also located across the street from the Charlotte Convention Centre and close to attractions such as the Bank of America Stadium.

The hotel’s decor draws inspiration from Queen Charlotte’s royal clothing and palaces, and features plenty of natural light in its interiors. All the rooms and the majority of the hotel’s 2,044 sqm of meetings space features floor-to-ceiling windows, with views of the city, stadium and greater Charlotte.

The hotel also features a spa with six treatment suites, a couples’ treatment room, and an express treatment pod designed for business travellers. There is also a 24-hour fitness centre and open-air rooftop swimming pool with private cabanas.

The dining concepts include Dean’s Italian Steakhouse, which includes a show kitchen and dishes of wagyu beef; Caroline’s Oyster Bar which features a 360-degree centrepiece bar and eight-seat raw oyster bar; and the fifth-floor Aura Rooftop bar which offers botanical craft cocktials, boutique wines and small bites.

Bruce Rohr, Global Brand Leader at JW Marriott, commented:

“With the opening of JW Marriott Charlotte, we will make sure every detail is taken care of, so our guests can focus on themselves during their stay.

“With thoughtful details throughout the property, holistic programming and an array of wellness offerings, guests will be encouraged to experience every moment to the fullest.”

The hotel is owned and operated by development company White Lodging which owns or operates approximately 90 premium hotels, 30 restaurants and bars and a collection of luxury ranches. This is the third JW Marriott in its portfolio and its first property in North Carolina.
