Swissport has opened the first lounge under its Aspire brand in Australia.

The Perth airport Terminal 2 facility has seating for up to 120 guests, and offers “carefully selected food and drink options, adjusted seasonally, with small, local suppliers ensuring a taste of Western Australia”.

During August the lounge is offering 50 per cent off standard online entry, at A$22 instead of A$44. It is currently open Monday to Friday between 0400 and 1600.

Perth airport’s Terminal 2 is currently home to charter and regional flights operated by Virgin Australia, Alliance Airlines and Rex.

Later this year a second Aspire lounge will open at the airport’s Terminal 1, built within the airport’s former control centre on level 3 and connected to the international departures area.

Along with Priority Pass owner Collinson, Swissport recently acquired the No1 Lounges brand, which operates facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Commenting on the Perth opening Brad Moore, Swissport’s managing director Australasia, said:

“We are excited to bring our renowned Aspire lounge brand to Perth Airport. It will make travelling for our guests as relaxing as possible. Our lounge products are carefully designed to meet the unique and evolving needs of our airport and airline partners.

“The remote area workers that frequent Perth’s Terminal 2 will have access to a peaceful new space for socializing and dining, adding some extra comforts to the start of their journey.”
