In order to control the influx of tourists visiting the state, the Uttarakhand government has decided to impose certain restrictions in popular hill stations like Mussoorie and Nainital.

New travel instructions will be only for those who are coming from outside Uttarakhand.

According to the Dehradun Police department, those visiting Mussoorie will have to provide a negative report of their RT PCR test. In addition to this, they are required to register on the Dehradun Smart City Portal and submit documents related to their accommodation, only then travellers will be allowed to enter the hill station.

Dehradun Police tweeted:

Similar guidelines have been put in place in Nainital.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami quoted in ANI, “We have issued an order regarding 50 per cent occupancy capping in hotels in Nainital and Dehradun.

“Challans are being issued to those who aren’t wearing masks. We are making efforts and will follow guidelines to contain the spread of the virus.”
