KLM has launched four new routes to European destinations this summer, as travel gradually resumes across Europe.

The Dutch airline will launch flights “up to seven times a week” to Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Palma de Mallorca, and Verona this summer. Flights to Belgrade began last week, while services to the other three destinations will launch on June 26.

Earlier this year, the airline also added Southampton, Cork and Poznan (Poland) to its European network.

KLM has also announced that it will increase frequencies or deploy larger aircraft to popular destinations such as Porto and Ibiza in July and August, and that it would “deploy relatively more capacity” to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia and Greece. The airline adds that the “expected capacity on European routes will be 50 to 75 per cent” but that “this could still change”.

The carrier will operate 96 routes this summer, compared to 92 in the summer of 2019. The route to Vaxjo in Sweden remains temporarily suspended, and the destinations of Marseille and Nantes will be operated by Air France from Schiphol airport.

Pieter Elbers, President and CEO of KLM, commented:

“We are extremely pleased that there are more possibilities to travel again. In this respect,we respond as flexibly as possible to market conditions. At KLM, we are prepared to carry our passengers to their destinations in a completely responsible manner. We offer our customers a flexible travel policy and the highest standard of hygiene.”

The airline recently began “the complete renewal” of the interiors of 14 of its B737-800 aircraft, and also launched inflight wifi on its first of the aircraft.
