Los Angeles International airport has launched a new onsite Covid-19 screening lab, offering PCR tests from $125.
Three screening locations have opened at the airport, with a primary lab and collection site located across from Terminal 6 on the Lower/Arrivals level, which returns results in three to five hours.
There are two further locations (in the Tom Bradley International Terminal on the Upper/Departures level at the check-in counters located in Aisle C, and in Terminal 2’s Lower/Arrivals Level baggage claim area) with results available in “under 24 hours”.
Pre-scheduled appointments are recommended at all locations, although “some walk-up appointments may be available at the in-terminal locations based on demand”.
The new onsite lab builds on a previous testing facility at the airport which returned results in 24-48 hours.
At the main lab site customers are tested at one of four open-air collection windows, and receive test results electronically. Around 1,000 tests can be processed per day, with the main lab site operating between tests between 0800 and 1800, and the other two sites between 0800 and 1900
Customers will receive an itemized receipt, which can be submitted to insurance providers for reimbursement where tests are covered by healthcare providers.
The airport also plans to add a rapid antigen test option later this month.

Last month Heathrow airport opened the UK’s largest private Covid-19 testing facility, with 24 lanes open 365 days a year.
