London Luton airport has opened a drive-through Covid-19 screening facility in partnership with Collinson International Ltd.

Located in the mid-stay car park the centre offers a variety of paid-for tests including RT-PCR, LAMP, antigen and antibody screening.

The airport said that the facility would “meet the differing needs of governments worldwide and enable those arriving in the UK to participate the UK Government’s ‘Test to Release for International Travel’ scheme”.

The facility joins existing Collinson airport test centres at Heathrow Terminals 2 and 5, London City airport, London Stansted, and East Midlands airport.

Note that a post on the Collinson website currently states:

“We are currently experiencing extremely high demand for pre departure LAMP tests. We continue our best endeavours to deliver test results within our estimated 90 minute timeframe however, where possible we strongly recommend that passengers book a test the day prior to travelling to prevent any unavoidable delay.”

London Luton recently unveiled its traffic figures for November, showing just 105,000 passengers passing through the airport during the month, around 90 per cent down on the previous year.
