Delta has made further changes to its travel waiver policies, extending the ability to rebook travel to two years.
The new policy, which provides waived change fees and greater flexibility to travel through until May 31, 2022, applies to the following customers:
- Those who have upcoming travel already booked in April or May 2020 as of April 3, 2020
- Those who hold existing eCredits or have cancelled travel from flights in March, April or May 2020
In addition, all new tickets purchased between March 1 and May 31, 2020, can be changed without a change fee for up to a year from the date of purchase.
Delta said that “Just as our business is changing, we know that events in our customers’ lives are being changed and cancelled, too,”, adding that “As always, we’re happy to work with customers on a case-by-case basis to figure out the best way to address their concerns”.
The carrier recently outlined its international flying schedule for April, with a drastically reduced network including routes to Amsterdam Schiphol, London Heathrow, Tokyo Haneda and Seoul Incheon.
The airline has also made a number of changes to its food and beverage services on board all long-haul international flights, with the aim to “lessen physical touch points on board” amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
