Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced a 15-day visa free travel via their Electronic Travel Registration and Information (ENTRI) programme for Indian and Chinese citizens.

ENTRI is an online registration facility offered by the Government of Malaysia to facilitate the entry  of Indian Nationals into Malaysia under the visa waiver programme. An ENTRI note will be issued as proof of the registration and it is required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia.

The new visa facility is available until December 31, 2020. Once registered, the tourists must travel to Malaysia within three months.

This move is expected to facilitate the “Visit Malaysia 2020” campaign that is aimed at increasing the tourist inflow in the Southeast Asian country.

Expressing his views on this news, Rajeev Kale, president and country head – Holiday, MICE, Visa, Thomas Cook (India) said, “We truly welcome the announcement by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism for a 15-day visa free travel via the ENTRI programme for Indians- which will create a fillip to demand and thus maximise the India market potential during Visit Malaysia 2020.

“With the Indian consumer’s growing demand for micro-cations and biz-cations, the visa relaxation coupled with the various festivals and over 100 events planned through the year, will create strong allure across leisure, bLeisure and MICE segments.”
